Hindi Diwas is being celebrated with great enthusiasm in every school, college and government office across the country. 14 September is indeed a day of pride for every Indian. This is the day of Hindi, the language that
unite the whole country.
In India, a country full of cultural diversity, the importance of the day of Hindi Diwas is very special. People in different regions of India have different types of food, lifestyle, dress, physical formation, even ideology.
There are followers of different religions Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Buddhist, Parsi and Jainism in different parts of India and these people from different regions speak different languages.
Hindi eliminates the gaps of these diversities of religion, caste, language and culture. It also decreases the distances between hearts of the people of different regions and keeps everyone tied in a thread of unity.
Today there is hardly any part of the country where Hindi is not easily spoken or understood. Hindi is not only our mother tongue or national language but it is a symbol of national pride.
Why is it celebrated only on 14 th September?
Many languages are spoken in India one of these is Hindi. Hindi is the most spoken language in India. Today i.e 14 th September celebrated as Hindi Diwas all over the country. Special programs are organized in schools,
colleges, offices and organizations to show and highlight the importance of language.
Let us tell you that after Independence, the Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi as official language on September 14,1949.
Since 1949 every year, 14 September is celebrated as Hindi Diwas. The Department of official language, Ministry of Home Affair, Government of India, discharges many important responsibilities with a view to increasing
the progressive use of Hindi in official work.
Hindi Diwas will be celebrated in Gujarat this year
Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year by organizing special programs in Delhi. This year Hindi Diwas is organized outside Delhi for the first time at Surat, Gujarat.
