India will celebrate its 74th Republic Day today, Thursday. It all started on 26th January’1950 when the country’s constitution came into effect.
On this day we observe traditional march, a grand parade by the contingents of the defense forces and Paramilitary Forces. The Republic Day Parade will start at 10am morning on the august Kartavya Path, Delhi.
Many people will witness the Parade sitting at their home as it will be broadcast on TV. You can watch the Parade on Doordarshan TV Channel.

Timings, Schedule
Respected President Droupadi Murmu will unfurl the Indian Flag at the Kartavya Path. After this, the Parade will start. A beating retreat ceremony will be arranged for three days after Republic day.
New Events
- For the first time, 12 women riders will take part in Camel Contingent of the Border Security Force (BSF) and 16 marching contingents from the Para Military Forces, Armed Forces and National Cadet Corps (NCC).
- Motor Cycle Riders or ‘Daredevils’ from the Corps of signals will be leaded by women officer.
- Newly- hired Agniveers will take part in Parade.
- The Narcotics Control Bureau will display a tableau, that too for the first time.
- Weapons that are made- in- India will be displayed at the Republic
Day Parade. - The iconic 21- Guns salute to the Honorable President during the Parade.
- The India Navy’s IL- 38 will also be displayed.
Now let us inform you that IL-38 is a Maritime reconnaissance aircraft introduced into the Indian Navy in 1977, it has served Navy for 42 years.
- The biggest drone show in the event, Approx 3,500 indigenous drones will light up in the evening over the Raisina hills on the occasion of the Retreat ceremony that will end on 29th January.
- A 3-D anamorphic projection will be arranged during the Retreat Ceremony.
