53rd International Film Festival of India in Goa: “Evolution of India Cinema in the Last 100 Years”

Ceremony of 53 rd International Film Festival of India, administered cooperatively by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and the Entertainment society of Goa (ESG), commenced on with a ceremonial opening at the crowded Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Indoor stadium here on  20th November, 2022.

In harmony with the vision of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the theme of the inaugural function was “Evolution of Indian Cinema in the last 100 years”.

In the Film Festival many Bollywood celebrities as well as the Union Minister of information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister of state (MOS) Murugan, Goa Governor P.S Sreedharan and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant attended the ceremony.

The 53 rd IIFT was hosted by Film personality Aparshakti Khurana, actors Suniel Shetty, Ajay Devgn, Manoj Bajpayee, Paresh Rawal and expert writer V.Vijyendra Prasad were commended on with extra special Kudus or honor, also acclaimed and legendary Spanish Movie producer Carlos Saura was given the Satyajit Ray lifetime Achievement Award on the occasion, the I&B minister promulgated the name of idol Chiranjeevi the ‘Film personality of the year’.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed breathtaking performances by Film celebrities Sara Ali Khan, Varun Dhawan, Kartik Aaryan and Mrunal Thakur. Varun Dhawan’s performance delighted everyone’s mood there his act on songs “Teri Mitti”, “Vande Mataram”, “Hindustani” and his new horror comedy movie “Bhediya”, song “Thumkeshwari”, “Nach Punjban”.

Sara Ali Khan danced on various popular songs like “Inn Aankhon ki Masti”, “Salaame – Ishq Meri Jaan”, and “Ghoomar”, whereas “Kartik Aaryan danced on his famous songs “Kala Jadu”, “Bom Diggy Diggy” and others.

According to Mr. Pramod Sawant the IFFI celebrations will have a new permanent venue by 2025.
